PSYCHOLOGICAL LANDSCAPES
www.spotlight.com/0215-0169-2489 As Cycle is essentially a one man show, I wanted to cast the strongest actor I could find to draw the audience into Rob's blight while also making them repulsed by his addiction and behaviour. After considering 4 actors applications, I decided that Adam J S Smith would be best suited to play the role of Rob. Adam’s pale skin and thin frame fits the description of a cocaine addict well and at 32 years old I felt he would have the relevant life experience to craft a believable, lived in portrayal of Rob. Adam's Spotlight page showcases an impressive body of work that includes many theatrical and short film roles as well as appearances on the TV show Poldark. His show reel displays a talent for conveying emotion during scenes of an uncomfortable, emotionally bare nature, an ability that will help convey the emotional lows that Rob experiences in Cycle. Adams background in theatre could also prove to be very beneficial to his role in Cycle as he will be required to act out each "cycle" from start to finish.
